Branding 101!

Tyla might just have cracked the code ! #how to be a brand ambassador for Chanel??

Tyla, ‘Chanel’ music video

There is no better way to collaborate with a historically fabulous, high-end fashion house than making a music video drenched in their products!

Branding is super important to artists who are interested in tapping into other niches, such as fashion. Brand collabs takes artists to stardom by merging both the artist’s fans and the huge audience of the brand, creating an immersive world that coincides with the same niche. For the artist, it allows for them to grow their popularity, catching the eyes of fashion heads and critics, being posted EVERYWHERE, such as most blogging websites (like this one), instagram campaigns, billboards, magazines. It leads an artist out from their corner of the music industry, into the eyes of the general public.

For the brand, they gain more opportunities to expand and maximise sales in countries and communities that the artist originates/aligns with, enticing the fan base of the artist to also turn into potential loyal customers.

PUT HER IN CHANEL!!

Tyla, the international star who carries her culture to all the countries in the world, has just dropped an anthem for all the girlies to scream about! Boldly titled as ‘Chanel’, this eye-candy music video and song is about…well CHANEL! The fashion house itself. Though Tyla and Chanel are not entirely linked through paid partnerships, she attended Chanel’s fashion show during Paris fashion week in March 2025. Since then, she has been seen wearing vintage pieces when walking on red carpets. Such as, converting the vintage 1993 Chanel Top that was first worn by Claudia Schiffer, into a mini dress for the MTV VMAs earlier this year.

This strong affiliation with the fashion house shows to the representatives of Chanel that Tyla is a potential partner. Tyla does all the hard work for them such as modelling in their clothing pieces- to show how she can pull off the Chanel look!, The love and adoration for the brand- to show her passion for a collaboration and most importantly, the cross-sponsorship - from fashion to music!

Tyla has created her brand surrounding her personal explorations of life and love whilst also exclaiming her desire to be treated and taken out as the high-value woman she is. She further staples that motto in her music video, ‘How you say you love? you ain’t put me in Chanelleaving fans hooked and chanting the chorus tagline!

As well as being dripped out in Chanel, this further proves to Chanel reps that Tyla is a moving force within the industry and has a big loyal fan base who would spread the brand further across the globe (not that it isn’t already worldwide, it definitely adds to Chanel’s long lasting legacy). As Tyla wears these vintage pieces, her aesthetic still shines through. She danced in those clothes as if they were made to dance in (again promoting the durability and flexibility of Chanel clothes) which makes the girls who admire her to also feel like they should be dripping in Chanel (and that they can dance in Chanel too lol).

Overall this is a very good tactic to score a brand deal with one of the most famous, legendary leading fashion houses. Artists should maximise more into these formats if they are trying to reach more fields within the creative industry. It is exciting, it is iconic and the whole world is waiting to see what comes of these two iconic figures!
