In these lines from time to time’

What makes this song so effective to me is how telling it is. For most of my life, love has felt like something deeply internal and instinctive, almost like fate or destiny, so the idea of "touching souls" has always made perfect sense to me. I never had to overthink it or question what it meant.

I think that's what makes songwriting so special. Sometimes a lyric clicks instantly, and other times it takes a while to understand why it means what it means, or why it makes you feel the way it does.

I also believe we carry a piece of every person we've ever loved with us forever. Those pieces come along for the ride, shaping each interaction, each new love, and every place we go. There's something so beautiful about that to me.
